green istria, croatia:

Well, the Europe photos are certainly being stretched out here!
I'm in full-on nesting mode (if you follow along on Instagram, you may have seen we are expecting a baby - now due in only a few weeks!), so getting up to date is high on the list of things to do! I have a couple more posts from our Europe trip last year, and also some photo from our time in New Zealand over the new year - so stick around.

So back to beautiful Croatia.
After visiting some of the quaint towns along the Istrian coastline, we headed east and started exploring the interior, also know as Green Istria. Here, you will find gorgeous, old hill-top towns, vineyards, truffles and lots of green. We visited the old towns of Bale, Buzet, Motovun and Groznjan, with Motovun and Groznjan being personal favourites. It was a nice change of scenery after spending the majority of our time by the water. And as you can see below, really stunning!

As a region to visit, Istria really ticked a lot of boxes and packed some serious punch with what we saw and experienced, and the interior really added to this.

next: the ocean port of Pula and southern Istria. Then it's on to Venice!
